Dr. Victoria VanNederynen was born and raised in Upstate New York. She attended Ithaca College in New York, where she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. Ithaca’s undergraduate studies exposed Dr. VanNederynen to a wide variety of health care professions, including chiropractic. It was not until a snowboarding accident contributing to a low back injury in her senior year, that she realized the importance of chiropractic medicine, and its benefits.
Upon graduating from Ithaca College, Dr. VanNederynen moved to Massachusetts. She worked as a Medical Assistant in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics for Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in Wellesley, MA.
Dr. VanNederynen returned to upstate New York to continue her education at New York Chiropractic College. Along with her studies, she was involved with various clubs and organizations, as well as intramural sports that included soccer softball, and triathlete events. She was consistently named to the Dean’s List and became a member of the Phi Chi Omega Honor Society. Much of her time was donated to treating patients at the Tonowanda Salvation Army, Buffalo Veterans Hospital, and various sporting events. It was during this time that Dr. VanNederynen became more specifically interested in treating sports conditions using Active Release Techniques® (ART).
Dr. VanNederynen’s specialties include being a Full Body, Ironman Certified Active Release Techniques® (ART) practitioner. With her strong interest in sports medicine, Dr. VanNederynen has been a treating chiropractor at the Lake Placid Ironman multiple times. She also holds advanced certifications in Kinesio® Taping, Level 1 Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Mobility, CrossFit Rowing, and CrossFit Striking certifications.
Aside from being a Chiropractor and an ART provider at Ironman events, in her spare time, Dr. VanNederynen also trains and competes in triathlons herself. In July of 2009 she completed her first Ironman event at Lake Placid. This inspired her to compete and finish 2 more; 2010 Lake Placid Ironman and 2011 Panama City Ironman. The past 2 years Dr. VanNederynen has utilized CrossFit and CrossFit Endurance to help her train for these events, and has been a treating Chiropractic Physician at the CrossFit Games in 2011 and 2012, including for CrossFit NewEngland theWorld Champion Affiliate in 2011.
With her personal experiences as an athlete and her advanced technical skills, Dr. VanNederynen is dedicated as a chiropractor to treating and optimizing her patients’ health and ensuring a better quality of life by designing a health and wellness program specifically for YOU.
